Linda Schofield

Linda Schofield has taught various undergraduate courses in the School of Professional Communication at TMU since 1993, and a non-credit graduate course in the art of communication for FOS (Faculty of Science) and FEAS (Faculty of Engineering and Architectural Science) since 2005. Her teaching has included a two-year visiting professorship in the English department at the University of Ottawa, a six-month contract in writing training for Canada’s Public Service Commission, and contract teaching in the English department and the Writing & Rhetoric Program at Innis College in the University of Toronto. As a training consultant, she has designed and delivered strategic writing workshops in the public and private sectors. She has also designed courses for the School of Professional Communication, one of which was funded by a J. W. McConnell Project Grant.

She holds a Ph.D. in English from the University of Toronto. Research, publications and conference papers directly related to her degree specialization focused on the rhetorical structure of Christina Rossetti’s poetry. Her current research interest is the impact of mobile device use on engagement in the classroom.
