First YearFirst Year focuses on introducing you to central concepts and genres and establishing your communication stream or Minor. You must select and complete the following courses: CMN210 Text, Image, and Sound Two core electives from ProCom. Not all electives will be offered each year. Choices will include: CMN211 Language and Power, Two core electives from other programs. These core courses reflect central competencies required for the BA degree. In addition, taking these courses will allow you to start focusing on a communication stream or work towards a Minor. Three professionally related elective courses. You can choose either elective courses in ProCom at the first year level or elective courses offered by other programs. To assist you with determining a communication stream or to pursue a Minor, we will provide you with guidance in your selection. Second YearSecond year focuses on developing more integration of theory and practice and developing key competencies. You must select and complete the following courses: CMN314 Professional Presentations One core elective from another program These core courses reflect central competencies required for the BA degree.
