Undergraduate Program

In our program you will have opportunities to get to know your fellow students and participate in small workshop settings.  At ProCom, we encourage networking between students at all levels of the program, between faculty and students, and between students and our industry/organizational contacts.

As a BA student in the School of Professional Communication, you will:

  • experience interactive learning that provides practice and feedback to refine professional skills
  • enjoy field opportunities such as working with community partners to enhance their reputation and brand
  • use leading-edge technology to learn and apply principles of visual design and social media platforms
  • learn about emergent and traditional communication theories and practices that will give you the knowledge to work in a variety of industries and fields

Communication specialists enjoy diverse and challenging careers where employers value their abilities to engage audiences, communicate messages with impact, and use media thoughtfully to achieve goals. Our students go on to work in public relations, corporate communications, government, the nonprofit sector, and other areas. Their work includes project management, research, event planning, and website creation. A BA in Professional Communication can also lead to post-graduate degrees in fields such as law, education, and communication studies. If you want to deepen your knowledge of communication practices and their impact on individuals, organizations, and society, consider the School of Professional Communication.
